Are You Still on Android Jelly Bean? Upgrade or Risk The Below

Back in 2012, Google launched Android 4.1 Jelly bean which gave room for a lot of tweaking… Windows Phone was still a thing and Nokia was the Lord and Master of mobile phones at that time.

This is 2021, was 9 years after and about 1% of Android users are still on the Jelly bean operating system. In my opinion, this 1% don’t really care which operating system they are using, they just want to make calls, receive calls and perhaps browse petty things on the net.

However, Google wants you to upgrade your OS from Jelly Bean to something higher. Google announced a few days ago that it will end Play Services support for all Jelly Bean devices next month.

By the End of August 2021, Google will push the Play Services APK version 21.30.99. This will be the last time that Jelly Bean devices will see an update. It applies to all variants of the OS, including Android 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3.

If you are part of the 1% of Android users still running Jelly bean, the August update won’t brick your phone or stop it from working as usual. It will, however, make certain apps difficult or impossible to run properly.

Upgrade your operating system to something higher, and if your OEM no longer supports you upgrading your phone, then it is time to buy another better and bigger device.
