Beware! GTBank Charges Customers For Airtime They Didn’t Purchase

While I was busy with my day to day activities, I received
an email and alert on mobile, 3:06PM from GTBank debiting me for N400 airtime I
purchased 6/28 2015. I thought it was a mistake, not until I received the second alert dated 5/25/2015 and
the third alert of N400. This is strange because GTbank on a normal day doesn’t
charge you for what you didn’t purchase. Within the time frame of

15Min, I was
charged N1,200 and up till now, no any valid explanation for that or any refund

I searched online to see if some other GTB users experienced
the same thing but to my surprise, a lot of GTBank account holders had similar
problem, same date.
The question is, why will GTB charge her customers for
Airtime they didn’t purchase? Is it system failure or what?
Imaging charging N200 from every account holders, do you
know how many billions of dollars it will amount to? If GTB thinks it’s an error, then refund should be
made to every account holders they illegally charge that day.

  1. This is seriously getting too much. I was charged 4 times N200 for airtime I didn't purchase and up till now, no refund has been made. The fraud currently going on in Nigeria is too much.

  3. Lol! See testimonies, GTB don hammer for real. I contacted their customer care on twitter and this was what they told me.

    "Please note that the debit notification you received is for a successfully completed airtime purchase transaction initiated on 28/05/2015. On the stated date, you were not debited but the funds were held which is why you may have noticed a difference in your account balance. The debit has now been passed and the held funds will be released. Please be assured that it is not a fraudulent/unauthorized transaction. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused."

Hahahahahahah.. i have stopped giving my clients my GTBank acc instead i just divert them to other valuable banks… Everymonth they charge me for sms and email notofications. i asked them to opt me out instead they said they can only opt out one as one would remain. i agreed and yet trust me they still deduct money every month. They call it one yeye GENS watever… I dont have an ATM Card and they still chatge my account for using atm every month.
