The Xiaomi Mi 8 is official, confirming most of the rumors. It is Xiaomi‘s latest flagship smartphone and, expectedly, comes with premium specifications and features.
The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, dual cameras and dual GPS. It is also the first official Xiaomi phone with a notch on the display that can be hidden with a toggle.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Specifications
The dual-SIM (Nano) Xiaomi Mi 8 runs MIUI 10, and the handset sports a 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080×2248 pixels) Samsung AMOLED display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, and support for Always On display.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with a claimed AnTuTu benchmark score of 301,472. It also comes with 6GB/ 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, with 8GB RAM exclusive to the Explorer Edition.
Mi 8 Camera Set Up
the Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with a dual camera setup of 12 MP (f/1.8, 1.4µm) + 12 MP (f/2.4, 1.0 µm), the second being a telephoto cam. It brings AI features enhancement for over 200 scenes and does 4-in-1 pixel binning for better low-light shots. The primary sensor is IMX363 by Sony, while the secondary is S5K3M3 by Samsung.
The selfie snapper is 20 MP with f/2.0 aperture and also jumps the AI hype train with AI portrait selfies and AI Beautify.
As for storage, the phone gets 64GB/ 128GB/ 256GB of inbuilt storage.
Connectivity options on the Xiaomi Mi 8 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, dual-band GPS (with L1/ L5 signal support, said to be the world’s first phone with this feature), and USB Type-C.
