Google Go lightweight search app now available for all Android users

Google Go is a lighter, faster way to search, with search results optimized to save up to 40% data.

The app is touted to make discovering, exploring, and sharing on the Web “easy and fast”, and will come preloaded on Android Go devices.

After testing the app on entry level devices (Go devices), Google has now announced that the app is available for all android smartphones (Lollipop and above) worldwide.

Google Go is about 5MB in size, works in slow connection, has lightweight version of Lens feature to translate and search the words you see by using your camera, offers an AI-powered read-out-loud feature that lets you listen to any web page, with words highlighted as they’re read so you can follow along.

The Google Go app has a Data Usage feature that, once enabled, helps you to load a lighter version of webpages using Google’s Weblight project.
