Just in: FG issues directives to block 9.2 million Unregistered SIM cards

There were indications on Thursday that the Federal Government is set to block about 9.2 million unregistered mobile telephone SIM cards in the country.

Minister of Communications, Dr Isa Patanmi, disclosed in a tweet on Thursday that he has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission to immediately block the unregistered SIM cards.

According to the minister, all unregistered SIM cards would remain blocked until their users present themselves.

“As at today, preliminary investigation revealed, we have over 9 million unregistered SIM cards in Nigeria, I have directed the NCC to immediately block those numbers until the users present themselves,” the minister tweeted.

So if your sim is suddenly blocked, it means it is not registered…

    • Good question Ghost, only in Nigeria do they come up with half-baked directives, ask for the public to do one thing without presenting a way to do with, sorry ass country.
That minister should be ashamed of himself, an old lady at the village relying on that sim card to reach her children suddenly cut off with no warnings and assistance as in how to remedy, government my foot
