Facebook to Rebrand WhatsApp and Instagram

Facebook planning to rebrand WhatsApp and Instagram by attaching its name; branding them ‘Instagram for Facebook’, WhatsApp for Facebook.

It appears a lot of users on the platform don’t know that WhatsApp and Instagram are owned by Facebook. Though both apps were born outside of Facebook, have very different corporate cultures and have thrived, in part, by having their own identities with consumers. Founders of the photo-sharing app and the messaging service left Facebook in 2018.

However, a Facebook spokesperson confirmed the change coming to WhatsApp and Instagram, saying: “We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook.”

Facebook has already notified Instagram and WhatsApp employees that it plans to rebrand both apps. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for a name change on both apps.
