Facebook has rolled out Messenger 4 globally to all compatible devices. It promises a more simplified experience focusing on the most important features that consumers often use.
Messenger 4 comes with a much more simple design interface, easy navigation, decreases the number of tabs down to three: Chats, People and Discover.
Chats is where all of your messages live and where you start out when you open the app
People is where you can find the list of Facebook friends that are currently online and where you can search through your entire friends list. Finally, Discover is where everything else lives. That includes businesses you can message and Instant Games you can play.
Messenger 4 introduces a new to personalize conversations with a small update to chat customizations called color gradients.
These new color gradients allow you to use more multiple colors to customize chat bubbles in conversations. These color gradients can be changed any time so that they reflect one’s mood or topic of conversation.
Finally, Facebook also said it is working on new Messenger features for future updates, which include the ever-popular Dark Mode and a re-skinned interface.
Messenger 4 will roll out to Android and iOS in the coming weeks
